Philanthropist Dick Smith for a second time has generously donated $1,000,000 to Rotary. This money is to be used for matching grants in our local community to help Aussies in need.

A club can apply for 2 grants per year to the maximum amount of $15,000 each grant.

GREAT NEWS: our club has successfully applied for a grant to help Jennifer buy a car. Jennifer is a single mum having lost her husband in a tragic accident a few years ago. Jennifer has a young daughter with learning delay and some special needs. Our grant is in the amount of $10,000. Jennifer can now look for a car and it will be paid for by RAWCS—Rotary Australia World Community Service. RAWCS administration looks after the grant payments.

Our application is on the RAWCS website and can be found under project search if you look for our club or project: 35/2019-20.

We have worked with Nelah house who identified Jennifer’s difficult situation. Nelah House is a woman’s shelter and a part of Coast Shelter.
